The Art of You:
Curated Pathways to Healing and Connection
Welcome to Anitha Grace Counselling
Grief touches every part of life. It changes shape, soft as rain one day, a storm the next. You may feel lost at sea, overwhelmed by tides you didn’t choose. Grief often asks us to release old stories, roles, and beliefs that once kept us safe but now keep us small. Like the tide, it washes away what no longer serves, leaving space for something new to take root… your new normal. Grief isn’t an illness to be cured, it’s a landscape to be traversed. It may appear as sorrow, exhaustion, anger, or numbness. It can come through bereavement, relationship endings, identity loss, estrangement, illness, or even the passing of an animal companion. My work in grief counselling holds space for the full spectrum, including pet loss, which often carries a depth of attachment unrecognised by society.
Grief doesn’t vanish, but it can evolve, transforming into a deeper capacity for compassion and presence. You do not have to endure grief alone, it deserves to be witnessed, not managed.
At Anitha Grace Counselling, I welcome you out of the storm and into the quiet space where healing begins. Through warmth, presence, and gentle guidance, we explore what has been lost and what still lives within you, the parts waiting to be reclaimed, reimagined, and renewed.
This is your invitation to pause, breathe, and return to yourself. Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken. It’s about remembering your strength, softening into change, and creating a new way forward, the art of you.
The Art of You is not just about remembering who you were, it’s about creating who you wish to become. Here, we work with curiosity and compassion exploring how grief has shaped you, and how it can also awaken you. Each emotion, each tear, becomes a brushstroke in your unfolding life.
You are not your pain; you are the artist of your own becoming.
You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s walk this path together.
Grief is as vast and varied as the sea. It arrives in many forms, each deserving of tenderness and time. Below are some of the grief experiences I hold space for – each one unique, yet part of the same human ocean.
The Many Faces of Grief
Bereavement and Loss of a Loved One
When someone we love dies, the world feels unrecognisable. Together, we honour their memory while helping you rediscover your own footing in the world they’ve left behind.
Relationship Breakdown or Estrangement
Love that once anchored us can become a wave that pulls away. We’ll work gently through attachment, identity, and forgiveness creating room for peace.
Identity and Life Transitions
From menopause to migration, career change to empty nest transitions can feel like small deaths of who we once were. We explore how to integrate change with grace and authenticity.
Addiction, Trauma, and Emotional Healing
Sometimes grief hides beneath coping patterns or survival modes. Together we’ll uncover what’s beneath, restoring safety in the body and trust in life.
Pet Loss and Companionship Grief
The bond with an animal runs deep, their love unconditional, their absence profound. Here, your sorrow is understood and held with the same compassion as any other loss. For many of us, the bond with an animal is unconditional- they are family, confidants, and sources of stability and love. When they die, the world can feel quieter, emptier, and profoundly changed. Pet loss is often dismissed or minimised, but it is a true attachment loss. In therapy, I offer gentle support to honour that bond, process the grief, and integrate the love that remains. Every part of your love matters here.
Ambiguous and Hidden Grief
Some losses are unseen — the ones you can’t easily name. This space allows you to speak the unspoken, to be witnessed without needing to explain.
Closing Reflection
Grief changes us, not to break us, but to bring us closer to our truest selves. The journey is not about finding who you were before loss, it’s about uncovering who you are becoming through it.
When you’re ready to step out of the storm, I’ll meet you at the shore with warmth, presence, and the art of you.
Counselling Specialisations
Grief & Loss
Grief isn’t an illness to be cured — it’s a landscape to be traversed. It may appear as sorrow, exhaustion, anger, or numbness, and can arise through bereavement, relationship endings, identity loss, estrangement, illness, or even the passing of an animal companion.
My approach to grief counselling holds space for the full spectrum of experiences, including pet bereavement, which often carries a depth of attachment that can go unrecognised. Drawing on attachment theory and polyvagal-informed somatic grounding, I help clients regulate emotions while staying connected to meaning and love.
Grief may not disappear, but it can evolve — transforming into a deeper capacity for compassion, presence, and connection.
Somatic Therapy & Nervous System Regulation
Healing begins in the body. Somatic therapy invites curiosity toward sensation, breath, movement, and posture — the body’s language for emotion and memory. With a focus on embodiment, relational safety, and nervous system regulation, sessions invite awareness that allows emotion to move and the body to return to a state of calm.
This approach helps clients regain a sense of agency, stability, and self-trust in their everyday lives.
Transgenerational Trauma & Family Systems Constellations
Through Family Systems Constellations, clients explore the unseen patterns, emotional legacies, and systemic influences that shape relationships across generations. This process supports insight, emotional release, and reconciliation — not only within the individual but across the broader family system.
It complements trauma-informed therapy by addressing intergenerational influences that live beyond conscious awareness, allowing clients to find clarity, compassion, and freedom in their own story.
Dreamtime Healing (Holographic Kinetics)
Dreamtime Healing using Holographic Kinetics is an Indigenous-informed therapeutic framework that supports clients to release unresolved experiences and patterns that may continue to affect wellbeing. Grounded in respect for First Nations knowledge systems and the principle of accountability for one’s own healing, this modality integrates respectfully alongside trauma-informed counselling to promote balance, awareness, and emotional regulation.
Trauma-Informed and Attachment-Based Counselling
I integrate attachment theory, relational safety, and trauma-informed principles to create a stable foundation for healing. This approach helps clients understand patterns of connection, rebuild trust, and develop resilience within safe, attuned relationships.
Mindfulness, CBT & Solution-Focused Therapies
I incorporate evidence-based frameworks that blend cognitive and mindfulness-based tools to promote clarity, emotional regulation, and practical goal setting. Clients are supported to shift unhelpful patterns and strengthen insight in a structured yet compassionate environment.
Inner Child Therapy & Parts Work
By working with the inner child and the different “parts” of self, clients can explore emotions, needs, and patterns that may have developed in early life. This process encourages integration, emotional regulation, and self-compassion, leading to greater authenticity and connection.
Relocation Mentoring
Having lived on three continents for over a decade each, I bring lived experience of cultural transition, adaptation, and belonging. I support clients navigating relocation, identity shifts, and cross-cultural adjustment with empathy and practical insight, helping them establish stability and a renewed sense of connection in new environments.
NDIS Counselling and Emotional Support
Experienced in supporting NDIS participants through trauma-informed, person-centred counselling focused on emotional regulation, wellbeing, and self-empowerment. I work collaboratively with clients and providers to enhance resilience, connection, and overall quality of life through accessible, inclusive therapeutic care.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselling
Supporting workplace wellbeing, stress management, and resilience through trauma-informed, brief-intervention therapy.
